In a tragic incident on Sunday night in Kasoa Ofaakor, Kwabena Mensah, a 30-year-old man, was fatally assaulted by his friends following a dispute over GH₵200.
The altercation began when Kwabena and his associates, reportedly members of Kasoa Odupong Ofaako Stool’s Asafo group, demanded a GH₵7,000 fine from an estate developer for violating a noise-making ban.
After receiving the money, they proceeded to confront another developer over GH₵200, leading to a heated argument among them.
According to Edem Saglo, the brother of the deceased, identified two of the attackers as individuals known as Beards and Baddest Shatta.
The confrontation escalated as they were drinking, with the suspects using stones and sticks against Kwabena.
Edem tried to intervene but was struck unconscious with a stick.
Upon regaining consciousness, he discovered his brother in critical condition.
Despite rushing Kwabena to the hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The suspects involved in the assault are currently evading capture, and the case has been reported to the Kasoa Ofaakor District Police Command.
