President Akufo-Addo has expressed that he considers himself exceptionally fortunate as Ghana’s leader, receiving immense support from various quarters, including the Ashanti Kingdom’s overlord, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He highlighted the privilege of being elected twice to serve the nation, contrasting this with former President John Dramani Mahama’s single term, which he suggested fuels Mahama’s ongoing dissatisfaction.
“I have been president twice, and when your time is up, you find a replacement, but some did not get that privilege; they only had one chance, and that is why they are pained till now,” he said.
“God was on my side to have been president twice,” President Akufo-Addo said at the grand unveiling of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, in Kumasi.
