Mahama delivers acceptance speech after NDC Primaries

Former President John Dramani Mahama officially delivered an acceptance speech at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale today, May 15, 2023 after the just-ended NDC primaries.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected Mr John Dramani Mahama as flagbearer to lead the party in the 2024 general elections.

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, over 356,000 delegates participated in the party’s primaries held in a total of 420 voting centres across the country.

After counting was done, Mr Mahama secured 297,603 of the votes cast, representing 98.9% to beat his only contender, former Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu, who garnered 1,381 votes, representing 1.1%.
