Samson Kwame Nyamekye, Peace FM’s Ashanti regional correspondent, confirmed the arrest during an Evening News broadcast on September 14, 2023.

Nyamekye reported that John Allister, aged 22, is now in police custody, cooperating with the ongoing investigations.

According to reports, John Allister fled the crime scene with his employer’s car and various belongings of the deceased. He also took the victim’s phone and impersonated her, sending messages to friends and acquaintances.

“The police encountered difficulties in retrieving the deceased’s body from the house, but I can confirm to Peace News that there is good news: John Allister has been apprehended by the police this afternoon and is currently in police custody, aiding in their investigations,” Nyamekye stated.

A video circulating on social media shows John Allister in handcuffs, being interrogated by an unidentified individual about the whereabouts of the stolen items. In the video, John admits to selling all the items he took from the victim’s residence and offers to provide contact information for the person who bought these items.

Sports broadcaster Dan Kwaku Yeboah revealed chilling details of the incident on September 14, 2023, stating that the woman, known as Efia Ahenkan or Princess Efia, was the wife of Reverend Osei Kofi’s son, who resides in London, United Kingdom.

According to Kwaku Yeboah’s account, Princess Efia was allegedly stabbed by her house help, John Allister, whom she had hired only a few months prior.

“The family of Reverend Osei Kofi is currently in deep sorrow as the wife of his son based in London has been killed. To enable his wife to pursue her business activities freely, the man had hired a house help through an agency. The house help’s name was John Allister, and he was being paid through the agency. On Friday, while she was in conversation with a friend, the friend suddenly heard her scream that she had been stabbed. The phone went silent, and her number went inactive. So, the next day, the friend sent a police team to the house in Kumasi,” he narrated.

Dan Kwaku Yeboah continued to describe the crime scene and the condition of the house when the police and the concerned friend arrived at the scene.

“Upon reaching the house, they discovered that the dog in the house had been released, and the lady’s body was found in the garage. The car in the garage had been driven away by the house help,” he reported.
