Kotoko coach so happy to beat Hearts of Oak back-to-back; calls it a big achievement

Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, expressed his delight after securing consecutive victories against Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors added to the Phobians’ woes with a commanding performance at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Ugandan striker Steven Desse Mukwala netted a goal in each half, propelling the Porcupine Warriors to victory and granting them bragging rights.

Reflecting on the match, Prosper Narteh Ogum emphasized that securing back-to-back wins over Hearts of Oak serves as motivation for his team to finish the season strongly.

“Beating Hearts of Oak back-to-back is not an easy job, so I’m happy. I think it’s an honour for this group of players; it’s been a while since this happened.

I’m not very sure of when this actually happened, but it’s been a while, so we are all happy, and you could see that when the final whistle was blown.”

Following the victory, coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s team has ascended to 9th place in the league standings, while Hearts of Oak has slipped to 14th.

Asante Kotoko’s upcoming match is against Accra Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
