Genser Energy Ghana Limited, an independent power-producing company committed to community and social responsibility, has sponsored the construction and outfitting of a new block for the Jungle Warfare School of the Ghana Armed Forces in Akyem Achiase in the Eastern Region.
Initiated by the board chairman of Genser Energy, Nana Osae Nyampong VI, the newly named Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI Block will serve as housing for the school’s demonstration company, providing essential amenities for comfortable living and training, including wardrobes, beds with mattresses, washrooms, and a water reservoir.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by military officials, community and religious leaders, and representatives from Genser Energy.
Brigadier General Anthony Ntem, Commander of the 17 Army Signal Brigade, expressed gratitude for the generous gesture on behalf of the chief of defence staff, urging soldiers to maintain the block for long-term use.

“We are very grateful for this kind gesture. I want to entreat the soldiers to put the place into proper use. Maintain the place so that it will last long for us,” he stressed.
Nana Osae Nyampong VI emphasized Genser’s commitment to uplifting local communities and empowering Ghanaian institutions like the Jungle Warfare School, stating, “Ghana can only be built by Ghanaians.”
Lt Col Jacob Codjoe, the commanding officer of the Jungle Warfare School, expressed excitement and gratitude, noting how the new block had transformed their living conditions. He praised the speed and efficiency with which the project was completed within three months.
“Ghana can only be built by Ghanaians. What you see here is an effort by Genser to make the soldiers comfortable. Thank you for giving the company [Genser] the opportunity to serve you. The block will help with efficient training,” the board chairman of Genser Energy added.
A citation was presented to Nana Osae Nyampong VI for his dedication to strengthening the educational landscape of the school, acknowledging Genser Energy’s significant contribution. The Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI Block symbolized the partnership between the private sector and the military, showcasing how corporate entities like Genser Energy could support national defence efforts and improve the quality of life for soldiers while enhancing training programs.
