John Kumah was rushed to the hospital at dawn in an ambulance

Reports have it that Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Dr John Kumah, who has passed away, was rushed to the hospital at dawn in an ambulance today.

This was after one of his workers chanced upon his deteriorating condition.

According to reports, he collapsed in his office and was swiftly transported to a hospital for medical treatment. 

Subsequently, due to a decline in his condition, he was flown out of the country. Sources say he was flown back into the country to aid his recovery.

The cause of his death is currently unknown. Parliament was hit with the news unexpectedly and suspended Thursday’s sitting.

Dr. Kumah, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, was known for his diverse roles as a Lawyer, Entrepreneur, and dedicated Politician.

He is survived by Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children. The family is yet to officially communicate his demise.

Following the announcement of his death, many Ghanaians including President Akufo-Addo have paid tribute to the late Dr John Kumah.

  1. Very sad news to Ghanaians. May His gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Our deepest condolences to the entire family and sympathizers. In deed, Ghana has lost a hero, particularly, the NPP.
