Media personality Captain Smart has fired back at journalists Kwame Sefa Kayi, Vim Lady, and Okatakyie Afrifa, who criticized his submissions regarding the death of the late Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah.
In response to Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah’s critique, Captain Smart asserted that no amount of criticism will deter him.
He accused his detractors of being puppets controlled by their masters and suggested they lack journalistic independence, alleging they are on the payroll of the governing NPP Party.
“No amount of words you will use can bring me down, I’m unbeatable, you can’t discredit me anywhere, your matter how much you paid by your bosses, media General CEO and COO are better than your bosses at Angel FM, those corrupt individuals, look Kwame Sefa Kayi, Vim lady you can’t bring me down, I said what I said as for the other one Okatakyie Afrifa, I won’t waste my time on you, you are just puppets being paid by your employees,” Captain Smart stated.
Captain Smart’s rebuttal comes after he alleged that Dr. Kumah died from food poisoning, insinuating it was a planned act.
Captain Smart claimed that the incident occurred at an event alongside the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Chairman Wontumi, and that Dr. Kumah had been in India for treatment following the attempt on his life.
Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah, criticized Captain Smart for what he perceived as spreading false information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of the late former Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Kumah.
During the Angel TV morning show on March 12, 2024, Okatakyie slammed Captain Smart for watching and doing nothing when he claims to have seen the late MP’s being poisoned.
He said Capt. Smart is mad and has mental problems for allowing such atrocious acts under his watch.
Kwame Sefa Kayi, a respected journalist and media personality, challenged broadcaster Captain Smart’s assertion that John Kumah, the Deputy Finance Minister, was poisoned.
Sefa Kayi questioned the basis for such a claim, emphasizing the need for concrete evidence before making such serious allegations.
“Now we are asking, you that said he died due to poisoning, bring the evidence. Where will you bring it,” he said on the Kokrokoo show.
The ongoing dispute highlights the contentious nature of the allegations surrounding Dr. Kumah’s death and the intense scrutiny faced by those who voice dissenting opinions.
