Manchester United’s out-of-favor forward, Jadon Sancho, has officially returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan, according to an announcement made on Thursday.
Sancho, who was acquired by Manchester United in a £73 million ($93 million) deal in 2021, has not featured for the club since August due to a public disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag.
Following a public bust-up and a dispute over Ten Hag’s decision to drop him for the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal on September 3, Sancho has been excluded from the first-team squad for over four months.
Sancho has made 82 appearances for United, scoring 12 goals and is under contract at Old Trafford until at least 2026.
In announcing the transfer, Dortmund and Sancho channelled NBA legend Michael Jordan by issuing a two-word statement from the England international: “I’m back.”
