Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has boldly asserted her preparedness to confront any adversaries advocating violence in the upcoming 2024 elections.

In response to the provocative statements from National Democratic Congress (NDC) members, Joseph Yammin and Mustapha Gbande, Hawa Koomson issued a direct challenge for a face-off in Kasoa, emphasizing that true courage is demonstrated in actions, not mere rhetoric.

Dismissing claims of being inherently violent, Koomson clarified that her past actions were driven by self-defense in the face of attacks from the NDC.

“I am happy to respond. Mustapha Gbandi should be warned, he should leave me out of his mouth, he and his Yammin.

“They know me and I know them, if he thinks ranting on radio is what is manliness, he should forget it. Manliness is shown on the grounds. If he likes he should meet me at Kasoa. He and Joseph Yammin should meet me at Kasoa, I will show them that there is a woman who is more than a man. They should meet me in Kasoa if they believe they are prepared,” she stated.

Refusing to be intimidated, she asserted her commitment to defending herself against any potential assaults from the opposition in the future.

Her resolute stance comes in the wake of threats and calls for NDC members to arm themselves during the 2024 elections, a move she considers unacceptable.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into Gbande’s statements, considering the potential for incitement to violence.

Hawa Koomson’s unwavering demeanor not only underscores her readiness for the political battleground but also highlights the tense and contentious atmosphere as the nation gears up for the crucial electoral process in 2024.
