Gospel artist Nacee has addressed accusations made by fellow musician Broda Sammy, who claimed that Nacee’s role on the Ghana Music Awards board has hindered his chances of receiving nominations.
In a recent interview, Broda Sammy suggested that their rivalry was why he wasn’t nominated for any categories at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards. He went as far as saying he’d only stand a chance if Nacee wasn’t around.
Responding calmly during an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz on May 30, 2024, Nacee, also known as Nana Osei, denied these claims, noting that he’s too busy to engage in such disputes.
“No, my time is precious. I don’t chase empty arguments,” he clarified.
Nacee expressed disappointment in Broda Sammy’s provocative remarks, cautioning that they could lead to legal trouble.
“He needs to watch his words. Some of his statements are quite serious. Saying you can only win an award when someone is dead is a threat. The police can act on that,” Nacee remarked.
He advised Broda Sammy to focus on improving his music rather than resorting to negativity, questioning why someone should die for another to win an award.
“Have you released any songs worthy of recognition? Think about your career,” Nacee advised.
Despite the tension, Nacee extended support to Broda Sammy, urging him to concentrate on musical growth instead of unnecessary conflicts.
“I’m here to support you as a brother. But there’s no need for insults,” he added
