A Ghanaian woman by name, Artiste Maame striving for the Guinness World Record (GWR) in gum chewing, unexpectedly nodded off during her record-breaking endeavor.
A viral video captured the moment on Saturday, as Maame, seated in a chair, appeared relaxed with her head resting on her arms near her right cheek, succumbing to sleep after completing seven hours of gum chewing for the Guinness World Record attempt.
Minutes later, she roused herself by humming a song and energetically throwing her hands in the air, determined to overcome fatigue and resume her pursuit of the record.
Artiste Maame initiated her ambitious seven-day gum-chewing marathon on Friday, February 9, with the goal of surpassing the existing record of 41 hours of continuous gum chewing.
The rules governing this unique record are clear-cut: maintain a stoic expression, keep the gum manageable, and undergo continuous timing and monitoring by a dedicated team.
