The National Banking College (NBC), established in 1994 as the premier academic institution dedicated to training middle to top-level bankers, celebrated its 30th anniversary.
During the commemoration on Friday, April 26, Gloria Quartey, NBC’s principal, reflected on the institution’s journey to becoming a leading provider of banking education.
She outlined plans for expansion, forging international partnerships, and integrating technology into the curriculum.
Mrs. Quartey emphasized NBC’s vital role in shaping Ghana’s financial sector and its dedication to driving growth and innovation.
He stated, “The GSA is actively working to enforce the provisions outlined in the Ghana Shippers’ Authority Regulations 2012 (L.I. 2190), with a specific focus on Section 6, which outlines service standards designed to uphold minimum quality levels in shipping services provided to shippers.”
She highlighted initiatives to broaden the college’s reach, establish strategic alliances with global institutions, and incorporate advanced technology to prepare students for the dynamic financial landscape.
The first deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana and NBC’s governing council representative, Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, emphasized the college’s pivotal contribution to the nation’s financial sector.
He praised NBC’s ongoing relevance amidst rapid technological advancements.
To mark its 30th anniversary, NBC has organized various events throughout the year. These include a health walk, a women’s empowerment conference, capacity-building sessions, and a thanksgiving service.
These activities serve to engage stakeholders, honor the college’s legacy, and reaffirm its commitment to driving growth and innovation in the financial sector.
