GFA delegates approves of 18 clubs for next Ghana Premier League season

Delegates have agreed to the Normalization Committee’s proposal to increase the Ghana Premier League participation to 18 clubs starting next season.

64 members voted in favour of the proposal which means both Olympics and King Faisal will play in the 2019/2020 league.

Per the agreement, 5 teams instead of 3 will be relegated.

The proposal was raised at the elective congress which sets the tone for the main election.

The Ghana Premier League has been played with 16 teams for over two decades now.

The 2019/20 season will begin on November 17, 2019.
