Folarin Falana, widely known as ‘FalzTheBhadGuy,’ has revealed that he has remained single for over a decade, sharing insights into his personal life during a recent interview.

The Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and actor disclosed that his last relationship was back in 2008 when he was just 18 years old. Since then, Falz admitted that he hasn’t pursued romantic entanglements actively, attributing it to the complexities and changes in his life.

“I am very, very single. My last relationship was in 2008 when I was 18. I am not avoiding it, but it’s been like a rollercoaster ride. There could be different things, different reasons. It keeps changing, and I just haven’t felt ready,” Falz explained during an appearance on the Morning Rush show.

Known for his witty lyrics and socially conscious music, Falz also shared his perspective on what he values in a potential partner, emphasizing that he looks beyond physical attributes.

“For me, it’s about the energy a woman exudes, her aura. Aura is everything to me,” Falz elaborated. He noted a shift in his preferences over the years, moving away from superficial aspects to focus more on the genuine energy and personality of a person.

“When I talk about aura, I don’t mean it lightly. I used to think I liked light-skinned babes or maybe those with big breasts, those superficial things. But now, it’s beyond that. It’s about what kind of energy do you radiate? That’s what matters. Just your energy alone can make a man feel alive, aroused, like he needs to,” he explained.

Addressing family expectations, Falz mentioned that while his relatives are eager for him to find a life partner, they support his approach to navigate the journey without succumbing to societal pressures or trends like the ‘baby mama’ phenomenon.

“My family is supportive, but they understand that it’s important to do it right, without unnecessary drama,” Falz affirmed.

Throughout his career, Falz has not only made waves with his music but also gained acclaim for his roles in Nigerian cinema, where his versatility and unique style have earned him a loyal following.
