Actress Fella Makafui attended a session before the Nungua Stool on May 24, 2024, in response to summons issued earlier in the week to herself and her estranged musician husband, Samuel Adu Frimpong, known as Medikal.
The couple received separate summons from the Office of the Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse, representing the Gadangme State, concerning their land documents, which had recently surfaced on social media.
In photos circulated online, Fella was accompanied by fellow actress Habiba Sinare and other aides during the meeting.
Journalist Caleb Nii Boye shared details of the encounter in a Facebook post, stating, “It was a fruitful meeting. Fella Makafui attended but didn’t bring the land documents. Medikal couldn’t attend but called to inform the chiefs.”
“They have been asked to come back on Tuesday with the land documents,” he captioned the post accompanied by a photo of Fella and the Nungua chiefs.
Nii Boye updated his earlier assertion that Medikal did not attend the meeting by posting information about the musician’s subsequent Friday meeting with the chiefs.
“Aftermath of the Medikal meeting with Nungua Traditional council. Medikal didn’t come to the meeting with the documents requested for, so he has been asked to return on Tuesday 11am with the said document,” he stated.
Amidst their divorce proceedings, Fella Makafui and Medikal, once celebrated as one of Ghana’s most glamorous couples, are facing a tumultuous separation while still residing together and co-parenting their daughter, Island Frimpong.
Their shared living arrangement has led to further conflicts, with Medikal reportedly asking Fella to remove her cousin from their residence.
In response, Fella has requested the intervention of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to investigate Medikal, escalating their ongoing disputes.
Additionally, the ownership of their home has become a contentious issue. Medikal claims sole financial responsibility for the property but contends that he included Fella’s name for the benefit of their daughter.
Fella disputes this, citing her contributions during their marriage and vows to present her case in court.
With conflicting accounts, authorities have deemed it necessary to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
