Shatta Wale has fired back after Sally Mann claimed that she and several other key figures in the industry met privately to push Stonebwoy’s interests, sidelining Shatta Wale in the process.
In a recent appearance on an Adom TV show, Sally Mann revealed that she, alongside a few others, held a behind-the-scenes discussion with the aim of boosting Stonebwoy’s career.
She explained that the meeting was necessary because Shatta Wale, in her view, has shown little respect for traditional media.
Sally also used the opportunity to criticise Stonebwoy, accusing him of speaking excessively and unnecessarily in recent times.
“For the past three years, we’ve held caucus meetings to push your agenda because Shatta Wale doesn’t respect traditional media,” Sally said.
“We came together to push you towards winning a Grammy. But now, you’re deviating from the plan by responding to Shatta Wale. How dare you respond to him? The agenda is to sideline Shatta Wale and elevate you, but you’re making it difficult for us. Don’t be a puppet for Shatta Wale,” she added.
Sally Mann’s remarks have sparked a significant online debate, particularly given the ongoing rumours about efforts to marginalize Shatta Wale in the industry.
Shatta Wale has long voiced concerns about what he sees as a concerted effort by industry leaders to undermine him, claiming they’ve been sabotaging his career and blocking his access to opportunities. He has even highlighted that some media outlets have placed a ban on his music.
In light of Sally Mann’s recent comments, Shatta Wale, feeling vindicated, took to social media to share his thoughts on the matter.
“Dem say dem do meeting to bring me down, ooo,” he wrote in a mix of Pidgin and English, alongside a post on Twitter.
