My ideal man must be funny but not a clown – Yemi Alade

Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade has recently expressed her views on what she believes makes an ideal partner.

In an interview with VJ Adams, she highlighted that an ideal man should possess a great sense of humor while also knowing when to be serious.

When asked about the physical traits she notices first, Yemi responded, “What are the physical qualities you notice first in a man?”

Yemi Alade replied: “I think beards are good. It would be definitely the eyes, the composure, the height and then eventually what comes out of that mouth. Funny is good but not a clown. There’s a tiny line there.

“I would say someone who is modest. There isn’t too much of braggadociousness but there’s also the let them know vibe. I don’t like people that brag.”

She also emphasized the value of modesty in a partner, expressing her aversion to those who boast.

Yemi Alade’s career spans over a decade, during which she has achieved numerous milestones.

She first gained widespread recognition after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009 and later signed with Effyzzie Music Group.

Her hit single “Johnny,” released in 2014, marked a significant turning point in her career.

Since then, Yemi has released several successful albums, including King of Queens and Mama Africa, and has undertaken multiple world tours.

Her accolades include multiple MTV African Music Awards for Best Female in 2015 and 2016, becoming the first female to win consecutive MAMAs for Best Female, and receiving a nomination for Artiste of the Year in 2015.

She also made history as the first African female nominated for the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2015 and received nominations for the BET Awards for Best International Act: Africa in both 2015 and 2016. In 2016, she debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s “Next Big Sound” chart.
