Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene recounted a near-fatal car accident he experienced on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in CP, near the DSTV office in Accra.
In an exclusive interview with Adinkra Multimedia NY, Eugene shared details about the incident.
Upon his arrival in Ghana, an underground artist approached him to record a song.
Eugene invited the artist to his Rockstar Made It studio in Achimota, despite living in East Legon Hills, as he prefers this studio for collaborations.
After their recording session, everyone except one gentleman had left the studio.
The gentleman was unsure of how to get home because his usual route was unused by others.
To help, Eugene offered to drop him off at Lapaz, a convenient location that would save the man transportation costs.
Taking this detour, Eugene used an unfamiliar route that day.
As he made a U-turn to join the main road after dropping off the gentleman, he was caught off guard by the bright lights emitted by street cameras along the Achimota stretch.
These lights, designed to capture vehicles using the route, contributed to the unfortunate accident.
“Fast-forward, I dropped him off and was making a U-turn to join the main road. That was when I realized that the street cameras along the Achimota stretch emit a very bright light designed to capture vehicles using that route, and unfortunately, the accident happened.”
