Renowned Ghanaian musician, Esther Smith, has clarified that she is not related to Chef Smith of Cookathon fame. She shared this information during an interview with Abeiku Santana on OKAY FM in Accra.
“My father is the one called Smith, who is from Cape Coast. My mother is from Akomadan. I’m an Ashanti because of my mother.”
When asked whether she has any close family relations with Chef Smith, she retorted, “Please, I’m not related to Chef Smith in any way. I don’t know him from Adam.”
Ghanaian Millennium Chef Ebenezer Smith claimed the title of Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, with a purported time of 802 hours and 25 minutes, according to the citation he provided.
However, it has been revealed that Chef Smith’s record attempt was not officially recognized by Guinness World Records, and his claim was misleading.
Meanwhile, Esther Smith is returning to Ghana for two performances after a long hiatus from the local music scene.
She will take the stage at the Bantama Pentecost Church in Kumasi on August 25 and at the Perez Dome in Accra on August 30, 2024.
