Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist Ras Kuuku has announced that he has reconciled with fellow musician Kofi Kinaata. During a recent interview on Hitz FM, the former winner of the TGMA reggae/dancehall category shared that he no longer harbours any resentment.
This comes after he had previously expressed his disappointment regarding Kofi Kinaata’s choice to exclude his verse from the track “Efiekuma Love.” Ras Kuuku emphasised that he values their relationship and has moved past the issue.
“I only spoke about Kofi’s decision to drop my verse, and after sharing my thoughts, I didn’t harbour any issues. I’m sure Kofi Kinaata feels the same way,” he said. “We are all working for Ghanaian music.
This happened in 2020, and it’s been a long time,” he stated.
Ras Kuuku added that if Kofi Kinaata is interested in another collaboration, he would be open to it.
“I initially planned not to collaborate with Kofi Kinaata anymore, but since we’re doing this for Mother Ghana and the music industry, I wouldn’t hesitate if Kofi wants to work with me,” he said.
In 2023, Ras Kuuku disclosed that his verse was removed from Kofi Kinaata’s hit song “Efiekuma Love” for reasons that remain unclear.
He explained that he had originally recorded his part back in 2020, only to discover it was absent when the track was later re-released. This unexpected change disappointed him, as he had anticipated his contribution would be part of the final version.
