Award-winning Ghanaian gospel artist Piesie Esther has recently reflected on her evolving perspective regarding social media, recognising its significant impact on her ministry.
Initially, the 2023 VGMA Gospel Artiste of the Year had a negative view of social media, associating it with “Maame Water,” a term in Ghanaian culture often linked to unfavourable connotations.
However, during a discussion on Adom TV’s Showtym, hosted by Sally Mann, she shared her newfound appreciation for the platform and its potential to enhance her outreach and connection with fans.
“When you take a look at things now, things have changed. Things are not the same as they used to be. Myself, initially, I thought social media was for ‘Maame Water,’ but I later realised it’s a good platform that has become a part of us as humans and can actually support my ministry,” she stated. Her evolving view underscores the importance of adapting to modern tools to broaden her reach and further her spiritual mission.
By utilising social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, the artist known for the hit “Mo” has established meaningful connections with her followers, sharing messages of positivity and inspiration through her music. As she embraces these digital avenues, her commitment to using her voice for outreach remains strong, aiming to uplift souls and foster a supportive community.
Her experience underscores the potential of social media to be a powerful tool for good in the realm of ministry, inspiring numerous individuals.
In today’s music landscape, social media has become vital for artists across various genres. It allows them to engage directly with fans, showcase their creative endeavours, and promote upcoming projects.
Platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter enable artists to enhance their brand visibility, interact with their audience, and receive immediate feedback.
This level of direct engagement not only helps in nurturing devoted fanbases but also amplifies their messages, encouraging community building and significantly advancing their careers.
