I heard you stole a watch in the UK, they’re rumors but damaging – Asantewaa tells Emelia Brobbey

Popular Ghanaian TikToker Asantewaa recently discussed the harmful impact of rumors on celebrities and how quickly false stories can spread.

She highlighted a recent incident involving actress Emelia Brobbey, where rumors falsely claimed she had stolen a watch in the UK.

Asantewaa emphasized the distress caused by such unfounded allegations, noting that these stories often circulate to damage reputations or gain attention.

During an interview on Emelia Brobbey’s show ‘Okukuseku’, Asantewaa shared her perspective on handling unwarranted attention.

She expressed her belief that if people grow weary of false accusations and rumors, they may eventually cease.

She mentioned the persistence of rumors, like the watch theft claim, which resurfaced even after fading away.

Asantewaa also pointed out that sometimes her name is used for publicity or to promote products and services.

Emelia Brobbey acknowledged the ongoing nature of the watch theft rumor, noting, “Just recently, someone else raised the same issue of me stealing a watch, and it hasn’t even been two weeks.” Asantewaa added that she generally ignores rumors unless there’s an opportunity to capitalize on them financially.
