I have remained single because it is the wish of my children- Patience Ozokwo

Renowned Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwo, fondly known as Mama G, recently shared heartfelt revelations about her decision to remain unmarried after her husband’s passing.

During a candid conversation on Mercy Johnson‘s show, “Mercy’s Menu,” Ozokwo disclosed that her grown children played a pivotal role in influencing her choice.

Despite harbouring the desire to remarry, the veteran actress revealed that her matured children passionately pleaded with her not to pursue another marriage.

Expressing concerns about potential societal reactions, especially from their peers, they requested her to stay single, assuring her that they would fill the role of a husband in her life.

In her own words, Ozokwo explained, “I wanted to remarry, but my kids had already come of age, and they pleaded with me not to marry another man, and they promised they would be my husband.

“Acknowledging the sacrifice she made for her family, she added, “They asked me to stay single for them so their friends will not laugh at them that at their age, their mum remarried, and I understood them. Though it was selfish of them, I paid the huge sacrifice for them. No sacrifice is too huge for family.”

Patience Ozokwor, is a Nigerian veteran musician, fashion designer, gospel singer, and actress.

She won the Best Supporting Actress 2012 & 2013 award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
