Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu, the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced ambitious plans for the upcoming 2024 elections, expressing confidence in the party’s ability to secure victory in 20 out of the 23 Parliamentary seats in the region.
Speaking at an awards ceremony organized by the Agona West NDC Youth Wing’s Working Committee in Agona Swedru, Prof. Asiedu disclosed that the regional working committee had devised strategies to mobilize members, particularly the youth, across all 23 constituencies to work tirelessly towards achieving this goal.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration within the party, urging the Agona West Parliamentary Candidate, Mrs. Ernetina Dangbe, to foster a united front to enhance the party’s chances of recapturing the seat from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Prof. Asiedu underscored the prevailing economic hardships facing Ghanaians, noting widespread discontent among the populace. He urged party members to harness this discontent and channel it towards securing electoral victory, emphasizing the need for cooperation and mutual understanding among the rank and file.
Commending the Agona West NDC Youth Organiser, Mr. Freebody Mensah, for his innovative and proactive approach, Prof. Asiedu highlighted the significant changes brought about in the youth wing of the constituency under his leadership.
In her address, Mrs. Queenstar Pokuaa Sawyer, the Agona East Member of Parliament (MP), lauded the dedication and hard work of the youth wing, which she noted had inspired many others to join the party. She urged the youth to focus their campaign messages on the 24-hour economic policy outlined by the NDC flagbearer, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, and intensify their efforts to ensure a resounding victory in the December elections.
As the NDC gears up for the electoral contest, the party’s leadership in the Central Region is laying down the groundwork for a vigorous campaign aimed at capturing a significant number of Parliamentary seats and securing victory for its Presidential Candidate. With the stakes high and the political landscape evolving, all eyes will be on the NDC as it strives to translate its strategies into tangible electoral success in the upcoming polls.
