Driver detained after striking Buckingham Palace’s gates with his vehicle

The London police have detained a driver who smashed a car into the gates of Buckingham Palace, causing damage.

The accident that happened on Saturday wasn’t related to terrorism and nobody got hurt, according to the Metropolitan Police.

The police arrested the driver and took him to the hospital, where he was held under the Mental Health Act. He has been let out of jail after paying money.

Metal fence was put in front of the palace entrance and the gates were closed on Sunday while tourists walked by in the rain.

The police are looking into what caused the crash.
