It appears highly unlikely that Manchester United’s winger, Jadon Sancho, will make a return to Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming January transfer window, according to reports from Sport Bild.
Despite earlier speculation linking him with a return to Dortmund or a move to Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga side has shown no interest in re-signing the 23-year-old.
During his previous four-year stint at Signal Iduna Park, the England international had an impressive record, tallying 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances.
However, since his high-profile €85 million transfer to Old Trafford in July 2021, Sancho has faced challenges in securing a regular spot in the team under manager Erik ten Hag.
He has managed to score only 12 times for Manchester United, and his future with the club has come under question, particularly after a public dispute with the Dutch manager.
Following his public criticism of Ten Hag’s comments about his non-selection, Sancho is currently training in isolation, and there is no definitive timeline for his return to the squad.
Further complicating matters, SPORT recently reported that Barcelona is closely monitoring the situation and has expressed interest in acquiring the winger in the January transfer window.
However, the prospect of a move to Camp Nou remains uncertain, as the LaLiga champions may struggle to meet Manchester United’s €50 million asking price. This could potentially lead to negotiations for a loan move instead.
