Da’Vine Joy Randolph was moved to tears on Sunday when Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o lauded her award-winning performance in The Holdovers at the Oscars.
“Da’Vine, my friend, your performance is tribute to those who have helped others heal in spite of their own pain,” Nyong’o said at the Academy Awards in Hollywood.
“It’s also a tribute to your grandmother, whose glasses you wear in the film. What an honour to see the world through her eyes and yours.”
Da’Vine Joy Randolph, a rising star and beloved figure among fans, clinched the Best Supporting Actress award at the Oscars.
This accolade adds to her collection of honors this season, which includes a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice award.
