The Member of Parliament for Sunyani East Constituency in the Bono Region, Mr. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, has been nominated as the Presiding Speaker for Friday’s parliamentary proceedings.
This decision comes as Speaker Alban Bagbin and his two Deputies, Joseph Osei Owusu and Andrew Asiamah Amoako, were absent.
Following the new standing orders, the Clerk of Parliament oversaw Mr. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh’s nomination as the Presiding Speaker.
The nomination was presented by the Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, and seconded by MP for Nsawan Constituency in the Eastern Region.
Additionally, it was seconded by the Minority Chief Whip, Governs Agbodza.
In his temporary role, Mr. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh will oversee parliamentary proceedings, ensuring the continuity of legislative activities during the absence of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers.
