The morning show host of Wontumi Tv and Radio, Oheneba Nana Asiedu, has alleged that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, came under attack for allegedly attempting to put the late Deputy Finance Minister Dr John Kumah in the limelight for the running mate role.
Oheneba Nana Asiedu noted that while in Tamale to aid Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s political campaign, Chairman Wontumi received a call from a high-profile personality of the NPP.
According to him, the purpose of the call was to question Chairman Wontumi over the presence of John Kumah in Tamale.
“In Tamale, a high-profile personality of this party called Chairman Wontumi, fighting him that why Chairman Wontumi had send John Kumah to Tamale and projecting him there to become running mate.”
Oheneba Nana Asiedu made this revelation on Wontumi radio following the death of John Kumah on Thursday, March 7, which he linked to the alleged poisoning case in October last year.
“No one can tell me that this incident that happened is not related or has no link to the running mate,” he insisted.
Oheneba is of the assertion that the late John Kumah and Chairman Wontumi were poisoned during their stay in Tamale in October 2023. He believes the Guinea fowl meat the duo consumed had been poisoned.
