Ghanaian actor Kyekyeku recently shared insights into his increased daily expenses since relocating to Accra, where he is gearing up for the premiere of his upcoming movie ‘1957.’
Since his move, Kyekyeku noted a significant rise in the cost of living compared to his previous base in Kumasi, citing higher prices for goods and services in Accra.
He mentioned that basic items that were more affordable in Kumasi now come at a premium in the capital city.
During an interview with Zionfelix, Kyekyeku revealed that he now spends between GH¢700 to GH¢800 daily on essentials like food, fuel, and miscellaneous expenses.
He attributed this spike in expenses to Accra’s status as the capital city.
Explaining his relocation, Kyekyeku mentioned that he moved to Accra in preparation for the premiere of his film ‘1957’ and to connect with the audience ahead of the event.
The movie is set to debut at the National Theatre in Accra on April 27, 2024.
