Exploring movie directing, production has been another growth opportunity for me – Emelia Brobbey

Emelia Brobbey has expressed pride in her adaptability within the entertainment industry and shared her enthusiasm about stepping into the roles of director and producer for her own movie projects.

In an interview on One Ghana TV, Emelia discussed her journey from acting to directing, highlighting her excitement about working behind the scenes.

While she already has experience in production, she explained that directing has introduced her to a new set of challenges and opportunities to grow, making her proud of her progress and excited about the future.

“Even now, as I explore directing, I’m constantly learning from him. His passion and meticulous attention to detail keep me grounded and inspired,” she said, highlighting her mentor Samual Nyamekye’s valuable impact.

Her latest film not only marks her directorial debut but also presents a unique acting challenge.

“In this movie, I had to play the husband of Mr. Nyamekye,” she laughed, recalling the initial difficulty of portraying a role opposite someone she views as a father figure.

“It took me out of my comfort zone, but that’s the beauty of directing and acting; you adapt, find your character’s truth, and bring that to the audience.”
