Ghanaians are in for an exciting musical treat as hip-hop sensation Black Sherif and Afrobeat star KiDi gear up for a much-anticipated collaboration.
Their track, titled “Lomo Lomo,” has been creating waves both locally and internationally.
KiDi, known offstage as Dennis Nana Dwamena, shared details about this upcoming project during an interview with Sarah Brefo on Ultimate FM’s ‘Morning Swing Show’ in Kumasi. He revealed, “It’s a crossover project. I’m bringing Black Sherif into my musical realm, and he’s introducing me to his world.”
There was initial curiosity about how KiDi’s smooth Afrobeat style would mesh with Black Sherif’s gritty hip-hop sound.
However, KiDi shed light on the collaboration, noting that the idea had been in the works for some time.
“I’ve always wanted to collaborate with him. We’ve been discussing this for about a year, and when this song was ready, it felt like the right moment to make it happen,” he explained.
KiDi also highlighted how Lynx Entertainment’s partnership with EMPIRE and Made In East New York (MIENY) has expanded his reach globally, allowing him to perform on prominent stages worldwide. “Our music distribution has really helped take our work to all corners of the globe, which is why I can now perform in places like Australia and Barcelona,” he remarked.
Expressing gratitude to his supporters, the production team led by Kojo Blak, Black Sherif, and everyone involved in making “Lomo Lomo” a hit, KiDi acknowledged their contributions.
The release of the track was celebrated with a lively event where comedian Ato Pagh (Akoapolo), Events and Brands Manager Icon Nana Benyin Anumel, Baby Porsh, and SB hosted KiDi on Kumasi’s popular radio show, ‘Ultimate Morning Swing,’ making for a memorable occasion.
