Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has committed to tackling Ghana’s housing deficit by focusing on the construction of affordable housing nationwide.
In a meeting with the leadership of the National Tenant Union at his Accra office on Friday, June 28, 2024, Mahama emphasized the critical role of housing in the country’s economic development.
“Housing is a crucial need, and my government will work tirelessly to develop SOCIAL HOUSING that is truly affordable and accessible for ordinary Ghanaians. That will be one of my legacies as President,” he said.
He pledged to prioritize the development of social housing that would be affordable and accessible to ordinary Ghanaians.
“I deeply empathise with the 19 million people in Ghana who are renting and committed to building a brighter future for all Ghanaians, with housing being a pivotal aspect of that,” he added.
