Retiring Auditor-General handed a 2-year contract extension by Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended the tenure of Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu for another two years.

Mr. Asiedu was originally set to retire on August 1, 2024.

He was sworn in as the new Auditor-General by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in 2021.

His appointment, effective from August 27, 2021, succeeded that of former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Asiedu served as the Acting Auditor-General.
