Managing Director of Intercity STC Coaches Limited, Nana Akomea has revealed why his establishment engages Enterprise Insurance, a private company, for the provision of insurance cover for recent fleet of vehicles acquired.
In interview with Johnie Hughes on 3FM, Nana Akomea was questioned on why the state-owned enterprise does not do business with SIC, a government institution, that also provides insurance packages.
Initially, Nana Akomea noted that he is not able explicitly determine why Enterprise Insurance which is owned by fomer Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta was being engaged.
But later explained that working with Enterprise Insurance is a condition set by the Agric Development Bank, the financial institution STC sought a credit facility from.
“I can’t comment on why the government is not conducting business with one of its own, but all I know is that we procure with Enterprise Insure because it’s ADB’s package.”
