The 2024 Met Gala‘s curtain has fallen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, marking the end of fashion’s grandest night.
This year’s exhibit, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” delved into the transformative power of technology on aged and delicate garments, breathing new life into them.
Celebrities graced the museum’s iconic steps in attire inspired by the gala’s “The Garden of Time” theme, paying homage to a J.G. Ballard tale where a count slows time with a garden rose.
The red carpet was a blend of florals, techno-influenced designs, and nods to the Sleeping Beauty narrative, resonating with the exhibit’s juxtaposition of antiquity and innovation.
Despite its secretive guest list tradition, notable attendees such as Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, and Zendaya, alongside co-chair Anna Wintour of Vogue, dazzled in garden party elegance, contributing to the gala’s fundraising for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute.
