Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, widely known as KODA, has stirred a viral sensation with a video revealing a medical mishap where he received incorrect medication for eight months.

The incident, dating back to 2015, unfolded when KODA sought treatment at a prominent hospital in Takoradi, accompanied by his wife and sister, due to health concerns.

In the video, KODA recounts how the doctor prescribed medication and advised regular consumption.

However, as time progressed, KODA began experiencing adverse symptoms prompting him to investigate the prescribed drugs online.

To his dismay, he discovered that one of the medications contained sulphur, unsuitable for his condition due to his G6PD deficiency.

Expressing frustration, KODA remarked, “I get emotional talking about it… I cannot take your word any more,” highlighting the critical need for patient vigilance in healthcare interactions.

He urged individuals to question medical advice and conduct research on prescribed medications, emphasising the potential gravity of medical errors.

Despite acknowledging the perceived assertiveness of advocating for oneself, KODA stressed its preventive role against severe consequences.

The video’s circulation on social media has sparked widespread discussions on patient advocacy and the risks associated with medical inaccuracies.
