The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Sarfo and Chief Inspector Bernice Wie Kpuusuu, stated that the complainant, Abdul Suleman, was a student and resident of Kojo-Oku, a suburb of Gomoa Nyanyano.

According to the prosecution, on March 31, 2024, at 11:00 am, the complainant boarded Zulkani’s tricycle from Kasoa to Millennium City junction.

After one person alighted at Kakraba near KFC, the complainant was left alone with Zulkani. When they reached the Ghana Revenue Office, Zulkani accused the complainant of causing his penis to shrink. He then called Nasir and Musah, who arrived and assaulted the complainant.

Fortunately, the Central East Police Patrol Team arrived at the scene and rescued the complainant, bringing both parties to the Millennium City Police station where a complaint was lodged.

In sentencing, the court ordered Zakaria Zulkani to pay a fine of GH₵2,400 or serve six months for the charge of publication of false news.

He was also ordered to pay a fine of GH₵1,200 or serve two months for deceiving a public officer, as well as serve a four-month jail term. Additionally, he must sign a bond to be of good behavior for 12 months, with the sentences to run consecutively.

He was ordered to pay a fine of GH₵1,800 or serve three months for assault, and must also sign a bond to be of good behavior for 12 months and compensate the victim with GH₵2,400.

Innusah Musah, another accomplice, was cautioned and discharged for assault, but ordered to pay a fine of GH₵1,800 or serve three months for conspiracy to commit a crime. He must also sign a bond to be of good behavior for 12 months and compensate the victim with GH₵2,400.
