Renowned highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena declared that he no longer aligns with any political party, signaling a departure from his previous association with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Back in 2016, Kwabena Kwabena fervently campaigned for the NPP, even releasing a campaign song and endorsing the party’s bid for power.
However, during a recent appearance on TV3’s New Day, he emphatically asserted, “I am completely out of politics. I am Ghanaian,” in response to questions about his involvement in the upcoming election.
The NPP, is facing criticism for alleged mismanagement of the economy, has seen notable figures expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s performance.
Kwabena Kwabena’s decision to distance himself from political affiliations comes at a time when scepticism surrounds the policies outlined by NPP’s Flagbearer and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his recent address to Ghanaians on February 7, 2024.
Critics question the viability of these policies, especially considering the challenges faced by the current government in addressing economic concerns.
