“Things we do for love” kick started my career – Jackie Appiah

Ghanaian screen icon, Jackie Appiah, reminisced about her initial television breakthrough in the popular series “Things We Do for Love.”

In a candid conversation with host Bella Mundi, she shared insights into her early acting days in churches and schools, highlighting the complexity of her first professional role.

“Things we do for love, that was my first TV appearance before that I used to act in church, I used to act in school yes but my first TV appearance was Things we do for love professionally.”

Jackie Appiah further revealed that despite hailing from a family of lawyers, she followed her true passion for acting.

“I always thought I would become a lawyer because I come from a family of lawyers, they are all lawyers, so I always thought I was going to end up in the courtroom. I love to act, but I thought I would end up in school, church. I didn’t know I would become an actress even though I love to act. I thought I would be in the courtroom.”

The actress reflects on her journey, acknowledging the unexpected turn that led her to embrace the world of entertainment over a legal profession.

The actress emphasizes the initial challenges she faced in adapting to the demands of acting but expresses how she eventually mastered the craft over time.

The discussion offers a glimpse into Appiah’s unique path to stardom and the realization that her true calling lay in the captivating realm of the entertainment industry.
