The Ghana Police Service has apprehended 25 individuals linked to an assault on its officers and the vandalism of properties in Kwahu Bepong, Eastern Region.
The arrested individuals reportedly attacked police officers and caused destruction in the locality.
The police were summoned to intervene and restore order after residents took matters into their own hands to address an alleged murder suspect.
Expressing discontent with police intervention, some residents threw stones at the officers and damaged their motorcycles. In response, a reinforcement team collaborated with local police to bring calm to the area.
The police, in a statement, mentioned that the situation has been normalized, and efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects for legal proceedings.
