West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been honoured as the Sports Personality of the Year at the Sports Writers Association of Ghana awards.
The dynamic attacking midfielder’s exceptional performance over the last two years earned him a move from Ajax Amsterdam to the Premier League.
Kudus notably stood out as Ghana’s top player during the FIFA World Cup, contributing two goals and an assist in three matches.
His contributions played a vital role in the Black Stars’ qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where he is anticipated to lead the national team to success.
In addition to the Sports Personality of the Year accolade, Kudus was also named Footballer of the Year (Foreign).
Currently, he is in preparation with the Black Stars for their AFCON Group B opener against Cape Verde, scheduled for Sunday at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium.
The Black Stars find themselves in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
