As Afua Asantewaa wrapped up her sing-a-thon Guinness World Record attempt, news surfaced that Sunil Waghmare, the current Guinness World Record holder for the longest singing marathon, touched down in Ghana to support and congratulate Afua Asantewaa for unofficially breaking his record.
But reports and information from credible sources indicate that such a report is false. A video shows a man in glasses who has been misidentified as Sunil Waghmare.
The man in the video in question is the Lebanese ambassador to Ghana, Maher Kheir and not Sunil Waghmare, the current Guinness World record holder of Singa-thong.
Also, the former France Ambassador to Ghana, Anne-Sophie Avé, confirmed that the individual in the photo is indeed Maher Kheir.
We therefore advise that you ignore such publications.
Meanwhile, Afua Asantewaa has completed her endeavor to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon.
Her impressive feat involved singing continuously for five days, six hours, and 55 minutes. Throughout this period, numerous Ghanaians showed their support by gathering at the Akwaaba Village Park.
On Friday morning, many more individuals expressed their admiration and congratulations for her successful completion of the singing marathon, taking to their social media pages to applaud her accomplishment.
