In a captured moment, the male president of Spain’s FA was seen embracing and kissing one of La Roja’s World Cup-winning players on the mouth.
Following their victorious performance against the Lionesses at Stadium Australia, the triumphant Spanish players ascended the podium to receive their gold medals from FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Spain had secured a 1-0 victory over England in the final match.
Among the dignitaries present to congratulate the Spanish stars was Queen Letizia, who was clad in all-red attire in a show of support for her compatriots. She warmly embraced the players.
Also sharing the stage was Luis Rubiales, the head of the Spanish Federation, who enveloped striker Jenni Hermoso in a hearty hug and whispered to her. He then placed both hands on the back of her head and kissed her on the lips.
