The Suhum Fire Station has rescued five individuals who were trapped in a vehicular accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway within the Suhum Municipality.
The Suhum Fire Station received a distress call reporting the accident involving a Kia Sportage with registration number GN 6340-16 that had veered off the road and crashed.
A crew of seven (7) under the command of StnO II Antwi Forson was dispatched to the incident scene last Sunday.
Arriving at the scene within 4 minutes from the time of notification of the incident, the crew quickly assessed the scene and deployed their rescue gear using hydraulic cutters and spreaders to create enough space to free the victims.
The victims were handed over to the National Ambulance Service for immediate care and transportation to a nearby hospital.
Fortunately, no deaths were recorded, however, the cause of the accident is under investigation.
