2024 Weija Dam Spillage begins today

The managers of Weija Dam, in collaboration with the Ghana Water Company, have officially announced the commencement of the 2024 Spillage of the Weija Dam starting on Monday, April 1st.

This annual spillage exercise will involve the opening of one gate of the dam to manage water levels and ensure safety.

In a brief statement, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) advised stakeholders and communities along the spillway to take note of the commencement and keep their members informed.

Furthermore, the Weija-Gbawe NADMO office will provide daily updates to the public regarding the progress of the spillage exercise.

A statement from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) said “Stakeholders and communities along the spillway should note and inform their members.”
