Osimhen opens up about emotional impact of winning the Scudetto with Napoli

Victor Osimhen, the talented Nigerian striker of Napoli, is still coming to terms with his remarkable accomplishments for the newly crowned Italian champions.

Leading the Gli Azurris, Osimhen played a pivotal role in securing Napoli’s first Serie A title in 33 years, displaying his prowess by scoring an impressive 25 goals throughout the season.

Notably, Osimhen emerged as the league’s top scorer, an achievement that etched his name in history as the first African player to win the prestigious golden boot in Serie A.

Despite clinching the league title ahead of schedule, Osimhen admits that he wakes up each day with a sense of fulfillment, fully aware of the extraordinary feat he achieved with the Napoli squad, often considered underdogs in the competition.

“This season Napoli actually won the Scudetto,” he said while talking to a group of journalist at dinner in a video shared on social media. “Since the game against Udinese, now I wake up every morning with fulfillment. It is the best.

“That is why the celebration is different from the others. Because when you are used to success it’s normal but when you are wanting success and you finally get it. You know the true meaning of success.

“A lot of them put us as underdogs and you come up from nothing to win something. You want to celebrate every time.”

Osimhen’s future at Napoli has become the subject of intense transfer speculation with PSG and Bayern Munich reportedly interested in his services, as reported by ESPN.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named the best striker in the Italian Serie A for the 2022/23 League season beating Inter Milan’s Martinez and Rafael Leao of AC Milan.

Osimhen has been a wonderful striker this term for Napoli and the Nigerian has won the heart of many fans at Napple just because of his excellent goalscoring form.

After 33 years of wait, Osimhen and his other teammates won the Serie A title with Napoli and the Nigerian is also on the verge of winning the Golden Shoe award.

Victor Osimhen could be set to leave Napoli this summer after helping the club to their first Serie A title since the 1989/90 season.

The Nigerian joined Napoli in 2020 from the French club Lille. It took him time to settle in Italy, but his exploits this season have made him a fan favourite.
