India to once more provide Canadians visas after ceased in diplomatic row in September

India’s embassy in Ottawa has announced that they will start offering visas to Canadians again. This comes after the visa services were stopped during a big argument between the two countries in September.

India said that the reason for the move was because there were security threats that were causing problems at their Canadian missions.

However, the suspension happened during a major disagreement regarding the assassination of a Sikh separatist within Canada.

Ottawa said India is responsible for the murder, but India says this is ridiculous.

On Wednesday, officials announced that they will start giving out some visas again. This decision came after they checked the security situation at their embassies and after considering recent actions taken by Canada (which they did not mention specifically).

It is being said that services will start again on Thursday. These services will include entry visas, as well as visas for business, medical, and conferences.

Relations between India and Canada became very bad after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that India was responsible for the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a leader who wanted Sikhs to separate from India. He was shot and killed in Surrey, British Columbia, in June.

The police called it a “targeted killing” but they haven’t found any suspects yet.

MrTrudeau has asked India to help with the murder investigation, but he also wants to make it clear that Canada does not want to make their relationship with India worse.

Canada recently brought back many of its ambassadors from India. This happened because India threatened to take away their legal protection, known as diplomatic immunity.

India has complained that Canada has a larger number of diplomats in Delhi compared to the number of Indian diplomats in Ottawa. India wants both countries to have an equal number of diplomats.

There are twenty-one Canadian diplomats still in India.
