Hearts of Oak have issued an apology to their fans following a humiliating 3-0 defeat to AS Real Bamako in the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers in Mali on Saturday.
David Ocloo was in the dugout for the first time as interim coach of the club since he was appointed last week but he failed to inspire his side to a win at Stade du 26 Mars.
Real Bamako took the lead after 11 minutes, added a second in the 30th minute, and sealed the victory in the 75th minute.
Hearts of Oak’s attack failed to put the Malians to the test.
“We sincerely apologize for the loss. We will work extra hard to put smiles on the faces of all Phobians,” the club posted on their twitter handle.
“We are grateful to our fans who came to support us against Real Bamako. To our fans back home we say thank you as well. We never say die”.
